About the event
Understanding how f-stop and shutter speed compensate for each other.
ISO can give you superpowers in the dark!
Showing motion tells a story.
- Freezing some things and blurring others.
- Making magical images that seem impossible.
- Shutter speed allows you to ‘paint with light!’
Giving your images dimension and depth.
- When do you want a narrow depth of field? Why?
- How F-stop changes depth of field.
- Does ‘zooming in’ really change depth of field?
- How it starts: distance from camera/subject and subject/background.
Knowing when and how to use distortion.
- Cool vs. uncool distortion.
- Which is better, obvious or subtle distortion? Spoiler alert: obvious distortion is better.
